Plot/Sypnosis:
Complex emotional relationships and human nature’s darker sides are explored in this captivating suspense drama about a cop whose lust for love threatens to get in the way of his professional life. Ki Hoon (Han Suk Kyu) is a guy who doesn’t mind an erotic adventure or two. Even though he is married to the charming and beautiful Soo Hyun, he engages in a passionate affair with his wife’s friend, night club singer Ka Hee (Lee Eun Joo). Plot/Sypnosis:
Kang In-Ho (Gong Yoo) is a newly appointed teacher at a school for the hearing-impaired in Mujin city. On the way to his new job he becomes involved in a minor car accident and takes his car to a local car repair shop. There his already wrecked car is bumped by a woman named Yoo-Jin (Jung Yu-Mi). Yoo-Jin is an employee at the Mujin Human Rights Center.
On the first day at his new school, In-Ho meets the school’s principal and director of administration. They are an identical twins. The director of administration asks for a bribe of 50 million WON ($50,000 USD) to work at their school. In-Ho’s financial situation is already in dire circumstances. His daughter who is staying with his mother suffers from asthma. In-Ho’s wife has passed away. In-Ho makes a phone call to his mother asking for the money. She delivers the 50 million WON by taking out the deposit money for their home.

Eun-Sung’s dreamed as a child of becoming a pop-singer, but her uppity mother would have none of that. As an adult can Eun-Sung achieve her dream?
Seung-Chul (Yu Hae-Jin) is a mafia boss feared by his subordinates and rivals. When Seung-Chul visits his mother Ok-Joo (Kim Hae-Suk) he morphs into another person entirely. Seung-Chul worries about his mother and attempts to do anything to make sure she is happy. He also sometimes acts as a figure father to his widowed mother. When Ok-Joo learns she has breast cancer and is resistant to having a mastectomy, Seung-Chul attempts to persuade her to have the surgery. He asks his mother if there is anything she wants, Ok-Joo shows Seung-Chul an old photo herself and a man from her teenage years. She wants to meet that man one more time .

But we, knowing that this is a Hong Sang-soo film, know better. In Seoul, Sungjoon, an erstwhile filmmaker, runs into a curious cast of characters: some old colleagues, fans he doesn’t remember the names of, collaborators who want nothing to do with him, strange women who clearly like him, waitresses who look like ex-lovers. And of course there will be drinking. And sex. And tears. And awkwardness that shows how quickly men will crack when properly inebriated and when placed in the same room together.
