Exotic dancer Biggie (Andy Lau) has a gift to see through “cause and consequence”. He meets a female cop (Cecilia Cheung) and uses his gift to help her capture an extremely dangerous murderer. The female cop learns that Biggie was once a monk who, due to the murder of a friend, left the monastery to find the killer. The female cop also has a inevitable “karma” that dooms her to die an unnatural death. The duo decide to oppose “cause and consequence” and change what cannot be changed.

The Postmodern Life of My Aunt (Hong Kong | China) 2007

An elderly woman discovers her trusting nature is a severe disadvantage in the 21st century in this comedy drama from Chinese filmmaker Ann Hui. Ye Rutang (Siqin Gaowa) was born and raised in Manchuria, but came to Shanghai to seek her fortune years ago. Now in her early sixties and once again single, Ye is uncomfortably aware that the China she knew as a young woman is changing radically, and she senses she’s fallen behind the times when she loses a position as a tutor because her English doesn’t sound “American” enough. As Ye looks for work, she begins to fall victim to a series of con artists, including a Chinese opera singer (Chow Yun-Fat) who uses his charm to pull her into a scheme selling futures on funeral plots; a neighbor fallen on hard times (Shi Ke) who isn’t as bad off as she claims; and even her own 12-year-old nephew (Guan Wenshuo), who fakes a broken leg to get after her savings. Ye’s misadventures leave her penniless, and she is somehow implicated in the grim fate of a local busybody (Lisa Lu), forcing Ye’s daughter (Vicky Zhao Wei) to come to a reluctant rescue. It is 1940′s China, and gangs rule the city. The most notorious of them all is the axe gang, lead by the insane Brother Sum. A slum called Pig Sty Alley is the only area safe from the Axes because the people there are so poor. Soon, wannabe gangster Sing and his pal Bone attempt to extort money out of a barber and fail, drawing the real Axe Gang to Pig Sty. However, it turns out that there are several kung fu masters living in the slum, and soon the two sides are enemies. As the plot thickens, Sing must decide- should he become a mobster, or save the day?

Story about writer Mr. Chow who met many women but loved only one. He moved into a small hotel in Hong Kong and wanted to stay in room 2046 but eventually took next door, and met woman from 2046… Number 2046 is not only a hotel room number it’s also the year in the future and the title of movie and novel.
Mr. Chow’s novel (title:2046) is a sci-fi drama.Tells a story about the mystery train with only one passanger on board. He went to the year 2046 and now is coming back as only one, wondering about the past (or future ?)…
Very unusual movie about the same old feelings. Great cast and cinematography. Very good movie
Focus required from viewers, may takes few times watching to see another thread in this complicated and tangled story.

Lang Lang was a beautiful girl making a living by working at a night bar, accompanying her customers and entertaining them with guitar.

Wu Fang, a graduate student, always ordered a glass of green tea at match-making arrangements. She had blind faith in her girl friend Lang Lang’s advice that ‘One’s love can be predicted from a glass of tea.’

Chen Ming-Liang, Wu Fang’s date and Lang Lang’s customer, knew nothing about tea. However, he thought he knew girls. He divided them into categories of ‘forest’ and ‘Roman’, the former always has unknown path and the latter is a maze.

During his dating with Wu Fang, Chen soon found that the person who influenced their love-adventure was Lang Lang. Lost in ‘maze’, He realized that Wu Fang and he were two green tea leaves in a glass and Lang Lang were the water to brew them. Where the tea-leaves would go and how they would end up was decided by ‘water’.
