Plot/Summary:
The first film by renowned minimalist director Ishikawa Hiroshi (Su-Ki-Da), “tokyo.sora” follows the lives of six young women as they try to find happiness. Small on dialogue and big on composition and emotion, “tokyo.sora” has become something of a cult classic for its existential atmosphere and refusal to toe the mainstream line of traditional narrative structure and quick pacing. “tokyo.sora” is a film that makes its audience take its time, immersing them in the lives of its characters.
Those that have seen director Ishikawa’s second and more well known film, “Su-Ki-Da,” will know what they are in for; gorgeous visuals, minimalist visual and audio stylings, and existential themes. The film is deliberately slow and quiet. For those with patience, it’s an extremely rewarding film experience.

…It’s silly, it’s unbelievable and it’s over-the-top, but none of that matters. Drunken Monkey is deliciously entertaining well worth a look. If you’ve not explored Asian cinema until Kill Bill, it’s not too late, and Drunken Monkey is a great place to start.

Plot Summary:
The bright 15 year-old Taiwanese teenager Lin Zhuzhuang (Michael Kong) was always a bit different from his peers because a very important part of his body was always bigger than theirs. This fact caused him to develop a special often nerve-wrecking curiousity towards sex. After he makes the acquaintance with book shop owner Mr Zheng (Bobby Chen), he creates a love for A books that extends to such immense proportions that even school assistant (Huang Chia) can only look up in disbelief. He starts to totally isolate himself from other people and regards Mr Zheng as his only friend. Even Lin Xiao ying (Liu Honghua) who is secretly in love with him and furtively serves him tea eggs every morning does not seem to catch his attention.
One day Mr Zheng sadly passes away and leaves behind a key and a house number for him. When he arrives at the relevant address he finds a hidden loop hole through which he can peep into a room that is occupied by two young female police officers (Dai Liren and Zhi Tian Ai Zi). It is then that Zhuzhuang discovers that Mr Zheng had an abnormal tendency for sex fantasies. He also realizes that sex is not a replacement for love. Plot Summary:
Lan Yu (Ye Liu) takes place in 1988 Beijing. The protagonist of the story, Lan Yu, is a country boy who arrives in Beijing to study architecture. Short of money, Lan Yu prostitutes himself for one night at a local gay pool-hall. He meets Chen Handong (Jun Hu), the owner of a trading company and son of a senior government official, who takes Lan Yu Home for the night and beds him.
After the sexual initiation, Handong and Lan Yu soon are meeting each other on a regular basis. Lan Yu yearns for a committed relationship with Handong, despite Handong’s insistence that he wants a play mate and not a life-long companion. Handong showers expensive gifts on Lan Yu, but he warns Lan Yu that they will eventually break up.
