Synopsis / Plot

Based on Miyagi Ayako’s novel, Cobalt Blue stars popular actress Nagasawa Masami as a young woman who is overwhelmed by despair and depression after her fiance’s sudden death. The film follows her touching emotional journey, revealing how her first love came to be and how she copes with the shocking loss. Stage actor and former Johnny’s Jr. member Rachi Shinji makes his film debut as Nagasawa’s boyfriend. Fukishi Seiji (Oppai Volleyball, Your Friends) plays her childhood friend, while Sasaki Kuranosuke (After School) portrays her father. Directed by Nakagawa Yosuke (Starlit High Noon),Cobalt Blue is set in Okinawa, providing a picturesque backdrop for the bittersweet turns of life and love.
