Synopsis / Plot

Ultraman: The Next, released in Japan simply titled ULTRAMAN (ã‚¦ãƒ«ãƒˆãƒ©ãƒžãƒ³, Urutoraman?), is a 2004 tokusatsu superhero film. It is part of the Ultra Series’ experimental Ultra N Project, and features an Ultraman character codenamed “The Next”. Fighter pilot Maki (Bessho) is thought killed in a mysterious midair collision with a glowing “meteor” but is later found alive and well. At the same time a mysterious monster that can “evolve” by absorbing animals and their DNA into itself is on a rampage. Maki has been selected by some alien intelligence to be Ultraman, a superhero with power to defeat the creature.
