Synopsis: An elderly couple journey to Tokyo to visit their children and are confronted by indifference, ingratitude and selfishness. When the parents are packed off to a resort by their impatient children, the film deepens into an unbearably moving meditation on mortality as they realize just how far their sons and daughters have drifted away from them, absorbed by their own business. Filmed in black and white, this is a simple, quiet story that will remind you of how important family is. Tokyo Monogatari is a heart-breaking tale filled with irony that bitterly rings true for the viewer in our ordinary lives as sons and daughters, or mothers and fathers.

I did! its one of the best Japanese drama’s and the most iconic work of Yasujiro Ozu.:)

Ozu is one of the great ones. Tokyo Story and Late Spring are his masterpieces. Just sit back and relax, you’ll be surprised how a seemingly simply film manages to leave a lasting impression.
