Dragon Wars (D-War) Korean

Based on the Korean legend, unknown creatures will return and devastate the planet. Reporter Ethan Kendrick is called in to investigate the matter, and he arrives at the conclusion that a girl, stricken with a mysterious illness, named Sarah is suppose to help him. The Imoogi makes its way to Los Angeles, wreaking havoc and destruction. With the entire city under arms, will Ethan and Sarah make it in time to save the people of Los Angeles?

As a young boy, Ethan Kendrick (Cody Arens) encounters antiques dealer Jack (Robert Forster), who has a glowing dragon scale in a Korean chest in his shop. Jack tells Ethan that he is the reincarnated spirit of Haram, an ancient warrior apprentice from 500 years ago. This warrior saved his love Narin from Buraki, a large Imoogi serpent. Jack gives Ethan a powerful pendant and tells him to find the reincarnated version of Narin; for when she turns 20, the pair will be be forced to fight Buraki again. Flashforward 20 years later and the adult Ethan (Jason Behr) is a television news reporter who coincidentally meets Sarah Daniels (Amanda Brooks), the reincarnation of his love. Together, the duo must fight Buraki the serpent Imoogi, which has returned in modern day Los Angeles….

A gorgeous movie star invites four men to a party to choose her lover. However, they start being killed and the situation gets out of control. This comic thriller is a remake of French movie “Serial Lover”.

“Happy Killing” aka Femme Fatale is a remake of the 1998 French comedy “Serial Lover.” I haven’t seen the original, so I can’t not say how faithful “Happy Killing” stays to “Serial Lover.” What I can say about “Happy Killing” is that the movie is stupid, gross, corny, and fun, while rolled all together in a feel good Christmas Holiday setting. The movie stars Ji-won Ye last seen in the hilarious and sorely under-appreciated “Old Miss Diary.” A lot of the fun found in “Happy Killing” revolves around watching Ji-Won Ye run around in a tight form fitting dress and trying to maintain her wits, while a serious of lethal accidents occur on Christmas Eve.

“Happy Killing” is a twisted comedy that you will enjoy if you can stomach a few utterly gross bathroom scenes and a couple of plot developments that defies logic. When its all said and done, I did find the movie to be moderately entertaining and able to dish out some laugh out loud moments. If you want a no-brainer slapstick comedy with appealing visuals than you should try to seek out “Happy Killing.” Just keep your finger close to the remote during those gross bathroom scenes!

The concept of an arranged marriage is often difficult to accept, especially amongst less traditional adolescents today. Sweet 18 (Nang Rang 18 Seh) covers this very premise and the story begins when Kwon Hyuk-joon’s grandfather, the head of the traditional Kwon family agrees to an arranged marriage between his grandson (Lee Dong Gun) and Yoon Jung-sook (Han Ji Hye) when Yoon Jung-sook is born. 18 years later, the two families lose contact because soon after the contract is signed, Jung-sook’s family encounters financial issues and is forced to run away.

Meanwhile, Jung-sook has grown up to be a rebellious and strong-willed girl who just wants to live her life as she sees fit. With little aspirations, she is the direct foil of her achievement-bound counterpart, Hyuk-joon. When the two meet each other, they clash horribly; Jung-sook thinks her fiancee is nothing but boring, and Hyuk-joon believes Jung-sook to be nothing but an immature child. The rest of the series follows their life living together as a couple, and the obstacles they are faced with. When Hyuk-joon’s first love reappears and wants to claim Hyuk-joon for herself (despite the fact that he’s married), who will Hyuk-joon choose? His first love Ga-young, or immature spunky Jung-sook?

When a young Chinese girl, Ai Qin, pays $25,000 to be smuggled into the UK so she can support her son and family in China, she becomes another one of 3 million migrant workers that have become the bedrock of the nation’s economy. Forced to live with eleven other Chinese people in a two bedroom house, they work in factories preparing food for British supermarkets.

Risking their lives for pennies, these unprotected workers end up cockling in Morcombe Bay at night to earn more money. And on February 5th, 2004 twenty-three of them drowned. Their families in China are still paying off their debts.

With an extraordinary debut performance from Ai Qin Lin in a film whose principal characters are played by formerly illegal Chinese immigrants, Ghosts offers a unique insight into the shadowy secret existences in the world that surrounds us and enriches our economy.
